- Under the hood: some model years carry a body code plate in the engine bay that repeats the paint code.
If the sticker is worn or missing, any Jeep dealer can pull your code from the VIN. The code, not the marketing name, is what a body shop or touch up supplier needs, because Jeep reuses names and even recycles codes across generations. PY5 was Dozer on the JK and Nacho on the JT and JL, and PFM served Gecko Green in 2012 and Gecko again in 2021.
