Trail Stewardship Micro-Grant

Our shop runs on 100% solar power, we ship in 100% recycled boxes, and most of us spend our weekends on the same trails you do. The Trail Stewardship Micro-Grant is our way of putting a little money where our tires are.

What it is

Four times a year, Jeep Decal Store awards a $250 micro-grant to a volunteer trail project in the United States. Trail cleanups, erosion repair, trailhead maintenance, litter hauls, waterway cleanups near trail systems. Small projects welcome. $250 buys a lot of trash bags, gloves, and dumpster fees.

Winning crews also get a batch of our vinyl decals for their volunteers. We cut them in-house in South Carolina.

Deadlines

Applications are accepted year round, but each one is judged in the quarter it arrives. Four deadlines, every year:

Application deadline Winner announced by
March 31 April 14
June 30 July 14
September 30 October 14
December 31 January 14

All deadlines are 11:59 pm Eastern. If your application arrives after a deadline, it rolls into the next quarter rather than being discarded.

The first grant will be awarded in October 2026, from applications received by September 30, 2026.

Who can apply

  • Jeep clubs, 4x4 and off-road clubs, and overlanding groups
  • Side-by-side, UTV, ATV and dual-sport clubs
  • Trail and park volunteer organizations, friends-of-the-park groups, and nonprofits
  • Scout troops, school clubs, and university outdoor programs
  • Any organized group of volunteers with a specific project on public trails, parks, or waterways in the United States

You don't need to be a registered nonprofit. You do need a real project with a real date, and a way to receive the funds (check or PayPal).

How to apply

Email info@jeepdecalstore.com with the subject line "Trail Grant Application" and include:

  • Your group's name and where you're based
  • The trail, park, or waterway you'll be working on
  • What the project is and when it's happening
  • How the $250 would be used
  • A contact name, phone or email

No essay, no forms, no application fee. A few honest paragraphs in an email is genuinely all we want. We would rather read about the project than read about how well you write about the project.

What winners get

More than the check. Every grant recipient gets:

  • $250, sent by check or PayPal as soon as the grant is awarded, so you have it before you need to buy supplies rather than after.
  • Vinyl decals for your volunteers, cut in our shop.
  • The recipient badge for your website, described below.
  • A write-up on this page naming your group and your project, with a link to your website, Facebook group, or wherever people can find you.
  • A feature across our social channels so the work gets seen by people who care about the same trails.

If your group is trying to grow its volunteer base, the coverage may end up being worth more than the money.

The recipient badge

Every winning group gets a Trail Stewardship Grant Recipient badge, stamped with the year you won it. It is yours to display on your website, your Facebook page, your newsletter, or anywhere else you want people to know your crew earned it.

We send it as a transparent PNG along with a one-line snippet you can paste straight into your site, so there is nothing to build. Each year has its own badge, so a group that wins more than once can show both.

Displaying it is entirely optional. Plenty of groups just want the money for gloves and dumpster fees, and that is a perfectly good reason to apply.

The fine print

  • One grant per group per calendar year. Previous recipients are welcome to apply again the following year.
  • One grant awarded per quarter, at our discretion. We pick the project we believe will do the most good for the trails and the people who use them.
  • Grants are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for product credit.
  • We ask winning groups to send a few photos once the project is done, and permission to share them. That is the only string attached.
  • Applications we cannot fund are kept on file for the following quarter unless you ask us not to.
  • We read every application. Given volume we may not be able to reply individually to each one, but every winner is contacted directly.

Past recipients

This is where winning projects will live. Our first grant will be awarded in October 2026, so this section is empty for now. Check back after the first announcement, or better yet, apply and put your own crew here.
