Application Instructions

To utilize the Oracal 651 vinyl effectively, follow these steps:

1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure all surfaces are clean and free from dirt or grease. Painted metals should be cleaned with an automotive detergent and dried with a lint-free cloth.
2. Position the Vinyl: Align the vinyl decal on your desired surface, using masking tape to hold it in place. Confirm alignment with a level if necessary.
3. Remove Backing Paper: Gently peel away the backing paper, keeping the vinyl from touching the surface prematurely.
4. Apply the Decal: Starting from the center, use a squeegee to press the vinyl onto the surface, working outward to eliminate air bubbles.
5. Remove Transfer Tape: Carefully peel off the transfer tape, ensuring the vinyl adheres smoothly to the surface.

For a less aggressive initial tack but longer drying time, you can spray the tacky surface of your decal and the surface of your vehicle to allow for flexibility in positioning. Allow at least 10 minutes of drying time. Be sure to check for tack before removing the transfer tape.
